Holly Creek on NBC Nightly News!

Holly Creek's residents were featured on the "Making a Difference" segment on NBC Nightly news on July 15, 2009. Our retired veterans have made nearly 22,000 wood cars that have been distributed throughout the world through a program called "Toys for God's Kids". This segment shares the story of our veteran woodworkers helping our troops in Afghanistan. Our men make wood cars from scratch and for $35 a box, the cars are shipped to troops who hand out the toy cars to a boys school in Afghanistan as a goodwill gesture. This is a great story that we hope you will share with your friends and family!

We have received many letters throughout the country because of this story. Below is one of the letters sent to our Holly Creek woodworkers.

"I saw the piece about your toy making project, and I was both touched and impressed. My beloved father, an avid woodworker, died recently and the retired military crafters made me think so poignantly of him. Please use the enclosed check to post a box of your treasures."
