Holly Creek volunteers bring smiles to Haitian children
The Holly Creek "Toys for God's Kids" volunteers donated a box of cars to Haiti. The photos show the smiles that the wood cars bring to the Haitian children and below is a thank you letter to our volunteers.
Hello,
My name is Chris Pate from St. Louis, MO. I had the privilege of traveling to Haiti last week to help with the recent crisis. My time was spent at the Hospital Sacre Coeur in Milot Haiti.
One of my responsibility’s was sorting thru the boxes of medications and medical supply’s as they arrived and getting them where they needed to be. To my surprise I came across a box of wooden cars. What a refreshing change of pace this was. Upon my discover I quickly located two of the resident Sisters of St. Joseph of Peace. I accompanied them to the pediatric building where they proceeded to give out the toys. As you will see the toys put a smile on many faces, mine included. I would suspect that you will receive a thank you from whom ever you donated the cars to. However, I wanted you to know from someone who witnessed the joy in person that these gifts were received and did in fact put a smile on many faces. My sincerest thanks for what you do.—Chris Pate
