Holly Creek is going green!
Holly Creek celebrated Earth Day a little early this year!
On April 15th Holly Creek provided a vendor fair for its residents and visitors and the theme was “On our way to a greener community”.
Information was provided by vendors on how the community was built with an emphasis on energy conservation and what we have started and will start in the future with regards to social responsibilities to our environment.
Dining Services Department’s Social Responsibility Commitments are:

o Commitment to Disposable Products
Holly Creek will be transitioning to CFL bulbs this year with an annual savings in energy costs to the community of over $119,000.00. Residents were treated to seeing many finds of CFL bulbs that are available now for home use.
Holly Creek will be eliminating disposal cups and to-go containers and going to reusable cups and to-go containers, saving the community over $23,000.00 per year
Our wine vendor, Kaarin Enright was on hand talking about Green Wines-Holly Creek has partnered with Parducci Wines who will donate $1.00 for every bottle sold to plant trees in fire damaged areas here in Colorado
Our sales rep, Karen Delfts from Robinson Dairy was on had with samples of organic and hormone free dairy products.
Allied Waste was on hand to talk about how Holly Creek recycles a large amount of our waste.
